About the ownerBefore venturing out to open Shanti Spa, LaShell Carter spent six years perfecting her craft as a massage therapist, nail technician, and esthetician at New Jersey’s finest spas and wellness centers. She took her desire to help people feel better about themselves (inside and out) and paired it with the best of her work experiences, brought them to Texas and has been growing personally and professionally nonstop.
As a massage and esthetics professional, LaShell is committed to utilizing a holistic approach to help clients overcome skin imperfections, restore and maintain physical, mental and emotional well-being, and incorporate wellness into their lifestyles. Her extensive training and knowledge-base have led to a faithful following of clients who range from professional athletes to carpooling mothers who know that internal balance increases external focus and productivity.
LaShell the entrepreneur wanted to create an atmosphere that is elegant, peaceful, and personable. By design, Shanti Spa is located away from the city and operates by appointment only to ensure that no client is rushed and that every client leaves feeling rejuvenated.
Along with her husband, NFL wide receiver Tim Carter, LaShell is dedicated to strengthening her community through service, sharing and leadership. Not only do the Carters have their own community organization that provides a nurturing environment for children in the Texas foster care program (Carter’s Kids RTC), they also volunteer individually to help support families in need, women in distress, and children in despair. LaShell takes pride in instilling the attributes of servant leadership in her two children as well. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, spending time with immediate and extended family and traveling.
